One Week Later.........

Well, it has been a week since boot camp ended. I have enjoyed the freedom of not having to make the calls every day, but I find myself thinking about them at the scheduled times every day, as well as thinking of all the people I came to know during the two months. I have learned that you must be persistent and consistant in this type of business, and probably in all types of dealings in life. You must also build relationships. I was always the type person that wanted to get things done quickly! I didn't have time to build relationships. Bah humbug! You must, if you want to succeed, and if you want a meaningful life. Well, it's back to work now. I am still buying leads, and for now, that is about all. Next week is the last week I will work at my lifelong job. Retirement is finally here! I have looked forward to it for all these 32 years, and now it is finally here. I am sure I don't yet realize just what all that means. I look forward to my "new" life. Ginny has promised to go outside and dance on my retirement day, and I will hold her to it! I hope it is raining! There is nothing better than dancing in the rain! I hope the rest of you are doing great things! I miss hearing from you every day, but I will get into making some of the calls after next Friday! Goodnight, my friends.

And So, The End Is Near, And As We Face The Final Curtain......

Well, this is it. I haven't quite reached my goal, but the show goes on. I feel confident we will ALL reach the goals we have set. We have put into effect the good habits that we need, (with the help of those two whip cracking women known as Ginny and Jacki), learned many of the things we need to know, and know who to call on if we need help or encouragement. What an awesome group of people you all are. Those that cheered us on, our wonderful leaders, and each one of you that participated. I can't wait until the reunion we'll have next year on a warm, sunny beach somewhere like Ginny promised. Uh-hmmm. This is a fantastic company. I am so proud I was allowed to take part in this first boot camp! I hope to go on to plan many things to help my community, my family and friends, and many others I will meet along the way. And to all of you I say "I love you, man!" If I can help anyone out there, please feel free to ask. I will continue to blog, though probably not daily. I will make some of the calls, though not all. I will be here, doing what I have learned to do. Thank you all so much for sharing the last two months of my life. I hope to share many more moments together. And never forget, Together We Can Change The World! Good night everyone:)

Thursday, Feb.12

I'm batting 100. All my followups were once again answering machines. Emails sent out, messages left, repeat......... As was discussed on the call this morning, just because tomorrow is the last day of boot camp, the only thing it changes is that it takes the pressure off some. Everything else will roll right along:) Good night everyone.

Wednesday, Feb. 11

Yep, Ginny was right! Finish the convfersation while you have them on the phone instead of giving them too much time. No answer on my follow up today. Just got answering machines on other followups. Even though it is late, I will get some emails out and call it a night. Tomorrow is another day. Gotta Gitter Done!

Tues., Feb. 10.....Counting It Down

I didn't go out this evening. We had thunderstorms and tornado warnings, but it was a perfect night to make those calls!! I also got my PM Marketing site set up, and am looking forward to what will happen with it. I will finish up by emailing 25 of my old leads (from the first weeks of boot camp). All in all, a good day. Still getting a lot of answering machines, but I will leave messages and then follow up with email. Have a great night everyone!

The Last Monday of Boot Camp 2/9/09

I have mixed feelings about this being the last week of boot camp. My initial reaction was relief. Looks like I am going to be able to finish. It will be nice to have my evenings back, and not have to juggle calls, follow ups and life. On the other hand, I have grown so used to hearing certain voices, and reading comments, it will be quite different not to have a reassuring note from Tess or Tina at the end of the day. (Congratulations Tess) And all the help from so many of you--Aletha, Richard, of course Jacki and Ginny. It's not like we can't or won't stay in touch. It just won't be every day for most of us. I'll miss you, my little power mallers!

Now, down to business! I had a really busy week end. I went to the mall with the intention of getting leads, and I got 14. I had followed up with about half before tonights call, and came home and called the rest of the names I had. One girl was at the bar, so she will have to call me back when she can hear better:) Still having a lot of answering machines. The only thing I know to do is just keep on talking to people, keep on following up, and keep on emailing and calling. I do buy leads on a regular basis, and I have the same problem with the answering machines on them, but I plan to try some new things that I have heard about on the calls, and in the updates, such as rent-a-list and network leads system. Now that the boot camp is about to end, it doesn't mean I will slow down on trying to build this business. I still know it is the best deal out there for a home based business, or for any type of fund raising you want to do. What a great day it was when I found My Power Mall! As someone else said on one of the calls, I will go back to what I was doing at the beginning, which was surfing sites and classifieds, since I got 16 or so sign-ups before boot camp started. Surely, a combination of these things will bring some results sooner or later. Preferably sooner. Nite all!

Friday Night, Feb. 6

I made all my contacts today and followed up-. Got caught up too. I get so much more done when I am able to make the morning call! Tomorrow I will be spending 4 hours at the mall for another project, but I hope to be able to make contacts there for MPM also. I usually work on Saturday, but I took off to do this other thing, so I should have some good fresh leads from it. That is about all I got done today, but I still have time to get off a few emails if I hurry:) Have a great week end!!

PS Julia, I am praying for you.

Thursday, February 5

Today has been a pretty good day. Tina, thank you for your continued encouragement! Your site is awesome, and your heart is as big as the globe! Big Z, you and your precious mom are always quick to encourage me too! I am so fortunate to have met the people involved in this boot camp! Oh, and by the way Big Z, the band's name will be the Outsiders. Thanks for your input!

I have made my contacts today. I got home late, so only talked to one of my contacts. I will do my emails, though, and follow up tomorrow. I will make flyers tonight for Tonya's mall, so that they can get out there and we can start earning her some much needed funds! I would like to go to our Good Samaritan building at least by Monday. I passed by there today, but they were already closed. My Fridays are always busy, so I won't plan to go tomorrow. I will try to catch up on my phone calls. Ok, thanks again for everyone's encouragement! I really appreciate it!

Wed. Night

Well, trying to make up for not blogging, here I am again. I have made 5 calls this evening and sent 10 emails. It is almost midnight here. I have to admit, in trying to make sure I had something to do when I retired, I have gotten too much! I still work 9 hours a day at my job, and will until the end of Feb. It would be very easy for me to quit at this point. I suppose it is not fair to the rest of you when I don't get all my work done. I apologize. I am not a quitter, however, and knowing most of you by now, I feel like you would tell me to stick with it. That is what I plan to do unless I am asked to give my spot to someone else. I will try to do better. Goodnight everyone.

Already Wednesday?

Between computer trouble, forgetting my password, and trying to get two of my people signed up, I just this morning realized I hadn't blogged. I'm sorry about that! I thought I had the computer problem fixed with Aletha's help, but will have to try it again. It is still acting up!! I DID get my two people taken care of. One is a mall for a girl who has had a brain tumor removed, and the other is a church that will try to help build the first one! My goal was 10 malls for the bootcamp period, and I have 5 since the beginning of BC, so I need 5 more. I also talked to a lady today that is retired and looking for something to do. I gave her my card and pointed her to Tonya's mall, told her what we were doing with Tonya's mall, and will talk to her again tomorrow. I also got my 5, but no time to do my report until after 9. I have been making the morning calls so that my evenings are free. It usually gives me more time for calls and follow ups, but tonight, I will be out until about 9, so will do most of my followups tomorrow. I am also sending at least 10 emails a night to older leads and NPO's. Well, that's it! I am feeling good about things, but cautiosly so. Still need to stay on top of it! Good night everyone

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Oh, Happy Day!

There is a young lady on my route that just had surgery for a brain tumor. I had tried to get one of the churches in this small commu ity to get a mall, and build it for this girl. Well, today I decided I would do it myself, so I told the church pastor, and she decided to get one too, and build under this one, so I will have 2 World Changers!! One for the church, and one for the young lady and her family. Just need to get them set up! What a great day. Oh, and the radio call this morning was fantastic! This is gonna work:) Sent a few emails tonight when I got home. Now it is time to go to bed! Good night everyone.

Wednesday--A Good Day!

It was about 18 this morning when I got up, with ice on the roads. BUT......the sun came out, the roads thawed, and it was a beautiful day! I felt pretty good today, and I talked to everone I saw! Back to my old self. I did get my 5, and thought I would follow up tonight, but did not get home until 11 PM, so I will have to make up for that tomorrow. However, I will get a couple of emails out tonight before I go to bed. So I guess I had better get at it, huh......

Tuesday Night

Well, I have made a few more calls since the boot camp call tonight, and left messages. I think everyone but ME uses their answering machines to screen their calls:) I am always afraid I will miss something if I don't answer. Ha! I did take one bootcampers advice (sorry, don't remember who it was) and now when I get a call wanting a donation for something, I just say "I have a new way that I am giving to my favorite charities." And I start telling them about My Power Mall. Doesn't take them long to say "ok, have a nice night" click. Works like a charm. I am just waiting for the day one of them actually asks me how they can do it too.

I sent a few emails today too, so the day wasn't a total loss even though I did stay in. Now, the weather person is telling us we have a 70% chance of more ice tonight. brrrrr. I don't know how you northerners live in so much cold weather. Here in the center of Texas (we call it the heart of Texas) we think one cold spell a year is too much!

Tomorrow, I will return to my schedule, Lord willing. At least I am not coughing like I was. Have a great night everyone!

Tuesday 1/27

Still not feeling too well. I stayed home again today, and the temps didn't get over freezing, so I was glad to be in and warm. There is some ice. Hope it is gone by tomorrow, as I plan to work tomorrow even though I still don't feel good. I think today is the first day I didn't get my 5. I didn't even stick my head out! Sorry gang, I just hope to get back to normal by tomorrow. I hope the rest of those who have been sick are feeling better!

Friday, January 23, 2009

It's Friday!!! Yipeeeee!

Yes, I'm feeling better! I have talked to 12 ladies over the last two days. I will see 3 of them again tomorrow, and at least 2 of them on Monday. (After my dentist appointment-yuk!) Monday is also the day I can go to see people. I have a couple different places I want to go on Monday. One is the animal shelter and the other is the Good Samaritan. Well, that's all for today. Even though it has been a long week, I think it will prove to be a productive one. And by the way Ed, I think from the call this morning, we've been calling some of the same leads:) Have a great week end everyone!

Friday, Jan. 22

I am feeling a little better today. I got some zycam nose spray, and I must say, it really has helped. I have not gotten much accomplished except for my regular 5 the last 2 days. I would have stayed home from work if I could have, but I did getthe minimum done. I hopeing for a better day today! Lisa, glad you are feeling better. Haave a great week end everyone. It is supposed to get cold here again tonight. I much prefer the great 70-80 degree days we have had so far:)

Happy Wednesday Boot Campers!

Well, today I did get my 5, but felt so bad I came home and took a nap, so I didn't get a whole lot done. I did find an NPO that takes care of wildlife. I noticed a picture of what looked like my male wolf-hybrid, and I read the article. Sure enough, it was a male wolf at a wildlife refuge here in Texas. So....I got the address and phone number, and will contact them tomorrow I hope. I am just trying to add an NPO here and there, with WCM's between the NPO malls. That way, I won't end up with all NPO's.

I sure hope everyone gets to feeling better around here:) See you tomorrow.

Tues. Jan 20

Today I talked to answering machines. I didn't feel too well, as I have been trying to get over a sinus infection, I guess, for some time, and today it won. I had a long day at work, being the day after a holiday, but I still talked to some people and made my calls this evening. Sent out about 5 extra emails also. Left messages on all my calls, since they were first calls. I am still hanging a flyer, and handing out biz cards. Haven't talked to my NPO's yet, but if I feel better tomorrow, I will stop at one on the way home. I'll try to make the call in the morning since I have band practice tomorrow night. I am getting better on my 12 string! Have a great night everyone!

Great Day-Another Monday!

I talked to a wonderful woman on the phone tonight, sent her more info and talked to her a while, invited her on tonights call (and she came) and then called back after the family chat, and she had already signed up! She singed up for a personal mall, but said she felt sure she would be upgrading. One thing she told me was that she appreciated me talking to her, and asking what SHE wanted in a business. So many times, we come across as only trying to sell something. Maybe it is because this is such a great business that we can approach it differently. I feel like I am offering something of such worth, we are not selling anything at all, but offering a way to make a difference in so many lives. Anyway, welcome Deborah! I am so happy to have you on my team!

The call tonight was great! It is always good to hear what others are working toward. It is inspiring to hear the hearts of others, especially when they just confirm my own reasons for wanting to be here. My goal this week is to add another NPO, and at least one World Changer. I wish you all a great week!

Another Friday Is Finally Here:--)

This has been a very long week for me! I talked to several people today, but didn't get but 2 emails out, and no extra calls today. Tomorrow, I get a rare Saturday off, and I plan to use it to it's fullest. I may even work on Sunday doing calls this week end. I need to get going again. I haven't had a sign up in too long. I know just one would get the ball rolling again. I will put in extra effort this week end. I must say, I am getting a little frustrated. Everyone have a great week end!

Is The Week Over Yet??

Yes, I'm in trouble again. Something has kept me out late every night this week. Tuesday, I just forgot to do my blog. Wed. night, I did try to get in, but forgot my password, it was late, and I just got my reports done and went to bed! I have had band practice twice this week, business meetings 3 afternoons and one night. However, I have made my 5 calls every day, all message machines but one or two. I have sent 10 emails each day but one, which I only sent two. No one seems to be interested. I am getting better at talking about MPM I think.......

I have been putting out flyers today. Perhaps that will get some interest. Ok, it's another late night. See you all tomorrow.

It's Monday! I Love Mondays!

I made the call this morning again and now have my list made of things to do today. I will make calls until 1 PM. I have an appointment at 1:30. I have allowed 2 hours for that, and then back to make more calls until 5. Thanks, Ginny, for saying this morning that you make a list and number things according to priority. We all know this, but I am one who forgets to do it, and my day goes so much better, and I am more productive when I start with a list.

Yesterday, I wrote an article about funding Non Profits, and sent it to newsletters. Hopefully, someone will pick it up and print it. I went ahead and wrote another one about how to inflation proof your own economy that I will send next week. I have also been writing to website owners to tell them about our business, and how well it would work with theirs. This is a little time consuming, because you want to look over their site to become familiar with it before you try to tell them you have just the thing for them!

I have signed up for the Texas NPO newsletter, and I will contact their NPO list with my idea of how to fund their NPO's. Anyone can put your state + NPO's into a search engine and get some great sites to contact.

By being able to make the morning calls, I am able to use the rest of the day to put the things to work that I learned, whereas when I make the evening call, there is not much time left to do anything, so I just go to bed excited and with inspiration. Although this may be great for my husband, it is not helping my business:)

Gotta go....I have calls to make!

Friday Jan. 9th

I made the call this morning, and I had written 10 leads down and taken to work with me, so after the call, I called all 10 leads. Out of the 10, I was only able to talk to 1. She was no longer interested, so I told her I would send her the info in an email, and if anything changed for her, she would have my info and she could get in touch with me. I left 1 message, got 3 disconnected, and didn't get answering machines on the rest, just no answer. Of the two women who had asked me to call them back today, I got 2 machines, and left a message for both.

I also saw a man at the mailbox. He was telling me he hoped I enjoyed my retirement, and that he had wanted to go back to work ever since he retired. I told him I had something on line I was working on, and he said he had been "taken" a few times with online businesses. I asked him what had happened, and he said that people didn't do what they said they would do. They got you signed up and sent you some products, and then you may never hear from them again. I told him I understaood, that I had been involved with some of those, but that this business was very different from anything else I had ever seen. I asked him if I could give him my card with my business url, and he said, sure, he would look at it. Then when he started to leave, he said he would see me tomorrow. This happened right after the call, so I was all pumped up and ready for this. It is amazing how much difference that kind of support and encouragement make. I have plans to visit a school and a couple of non profits Monday. Who knows what tomorrow will bring:) It has been a good day! Goodnight everyone! And thanks so much for the comments and encouragement!

Thurs Boot Camp

Well, I didn't get home from work until 6 PM tonight, so I thought after the call I would just send out my 5 or so emails and call it a night. I did make one call and didn't get anyone. I started sending emails, and ended up sending out the 5, and about 50 more to older leads. Tomorrow I have two women to call back who seem to be interested in MPM. I will also try to make several more calls. Friday is my long day, with both jobs, so whatever I get done will have to be between the two. I made the morning call Wed. and it really freed up the evening hours that day. I will do that when I can and get more calling time. I hate to call anyone after about 9 PM. I am going to talk to one of our private schools Monday, which is my day off, and I have found the Chamber list on the net, so I will begin contacting those. Both these ideas came from the boot camp calls. Everyone have a great night!

What A Day!

I broke down on my job today and spent an hour and a half trying to get someone out to get me going again. I did get my 5 today, but got home late and did not do any follow ups today :o( I had made the early call while on my route because I was going to get busy tonight, but things do not always go as planned. I was so excited after the call this morning, I was mentally going through exactly what I would do when I got off, and then.......

Well, there is tomorrow, and I will send out some emails tonight before I go to bed. I have made it a goal that I will do SOMETHING every day to get closer to my target. Trudge on, mighty warriors, trudge on!! Goodnight:)

Look Out 2009--Here We Come!

It was nice to be back on the calls tonight, even though I enjoyed the time off. I actually got more calls and follow-ups done with the extra hour, but I need the interaction with other people who are working toward the same goal. I am very excited about the new year, especially after hearing Ginny talk about it tonight. I had already decided that this would be the best year ever to make my dreams come true, but it was confirmed tonight on the call when Ginny said almost the same thing.

This year I need to keep my goals in sight. I wrote them down at the beginning of the boot camp, but it is easy to loose sight of your goals sometimes when life gets in the way. I will take some time tonight to make a new list of goals, not only for MPM, but for my retirement, which is coming the end of Feb., goals for my health, which I haven't been taking care of for far too long, and goals for spending more time doing the things that are REALLY important, such as making other people's lives better, spending more time with family, making a difference in my community.....

I hope everyone feels the fresh breath of hope this new year! It reminds me of a few years ago when my husband and I took in a relative who's mother could not handle him, (a very active 11 year old) and he was getting into lots of trouble. Every time he would mess up, he would say "can we just start over?"
I think we all feel that way sometimes. I know I do. New Years always brings a chance to just start over, like Ginny said on the call tonight. Let's all commit to that fresh start on this 5th day of January. Have a great week everyone!
